THE AMITO SOLUTION

We started operating in Telehouse North in 2004. All of our racks enjoy dual and fully diverse A+B power feeds.

The bulk of our customers in Telehouse North can be termed wholesale. A typical deployment with us might be one of our dedicated quarter rack units to house a switch, a router and some related servers.

Amito also supports numerous overseas clients, for whom having a reliable locally based partner to provide more than just colocation is a key factor. Such clients take advantage of our long-term project management skills and support services. These services include handling incoming shipments or preparing items for return to vendors.

We are also accommodating a growing list of cloud service providers in Telehouse. They are attracted by the reputation of the site, low-latency connectivity and the 24/7 on-site support that is included in the service charges.

We arrange all cross-connects required by our customers and can advise on the best commercial arrangements to manage the costs involved. All Amito customers in Telehouse enjoy the direct use of the Telehouse 24/7 remote-hands service.

Amito’s full range of network services are available here, with internet ports and easy connections to the other Telehouse buildings or our data centres located further afield. The Telehouse dark-fibre Interlink service is also another alternative means to access both West, East and the forthcoming North2.

REVIEW OF TELEHOUSE NORTH

Since opening in 1990, Telehouse North has become established as the leading carrier-connectivity colocation ecosystem in London and Western Europe. The facility plays a unique and strategic role for network infrastructure in Europe as hundreds of ISPs, carriers, and network operators, VoIP providers and unified-communications providers are available here.

Telehouse was the first carrier-independent colocation facility in the UK. It had been in operation for nearly 10 years by the time of the dot-com boom. The first competitors to BT moved into Telehouse in the early ’90s, when telecom deregulation commenced in the UK. LINX began operations here in 1994. Today Telehouse North is one of five key global network hubs.
